1. Introduction

PREPULSE values your privacy and protects your personal data with transparency and responsibility. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use PREPULSE (web app and mobile applications). By using PREPULSE, you agree to the terms of this Policy. Acceptance of these terms is mandatory for use of the service and is electronically recorded with date, time, and document version.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information you provide

Full name, email address, date of birth, and country (collected during registration). Study plan information (plan name, exam date, subjects with weight and difficulty, topics per week) is provided separately in the Plans tab.

3.2 Usage and performance data

Study schedules, frequency of use, post-session evaluations, actual session durations, flashcards created and reviewed (including spaced repetition metrics), interactions with the ORBI assistant, study group participation, and activity logs on the platform.

3.3 Technical data

IP address, device type, operating system, app version, browser, detected timezone, and technical identifiers necessary for service operation.

3.4 Payment data

Payments are processed by third parties (Stripe). PREPULSE does not store complete credit card data. We only store subscription identifiers for access management.

3.5 Study Group Data

When participating in a Study Group, the following data may be visible to other group members: your username and avatar; number of flashcards reviewed and accuracy rate (only if you enable 'Allow admin to see my progress'); flashcard decks you explicitly share with the group (only if you enable 'Allow members to see my decks'). You control these permissions at any time in the group settings. The content of your individual flashcards is never displayed without your explicit authorization. Upon leaving a group, your progress data becomes invisible to other members. Copies of decks made by other members before your departure remain with those members independently.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: provide and maintain the PREPULSE service; generate personalized study plans using AI algorithms; track and display your study performance analytics; manage flashcards and spaced repetition; facilitate study group interaction; send service-related notifications; process payments; improve our services; and comply with legal obligations.

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

PREPULSE complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. Additionally, PREPULSE requires all users to be at least 14 years old. Our registration process includes date of birth verification that blocks users under 14. If we discover that we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 14, we will promptly delete such information and terminate the account. 6. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):

• Right to Know: You can request information about the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
• Right to Delete: You can request the deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
• Right to Opt-Out: We do not sell your personal information. If this changes, we will provide an opt-out mechanism.
• Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
• Right to Correct: You can request correction of inaccurate personal information.

We implement appropriate safeguards including standard contractual clauses to protect your data during such transfers.

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Upon account deletion, we permanently remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Anonymized usage data may be retained for analytics purposes.

9. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL), encryption at rest, Row Level Security (RLS) on all database tables, and regular security audits. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

10. Third-Party Services

PREPULSE integrates with the following third-party services: Stripe (payment processing), AI language model providers (for ORBI assistant functionality). These providers have their own privacy policies and we encourage you to review them.

11. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to: access your personal data; correct inaccurate data; delete your data; restrict processing; data portability; and withdraw consent. Contact preppulse.help@gmail.com to exercise any of these rights.

12. AI & Data Usage

The ORBI AI assistant processes your study data (schedules, performance metrics, session history) solely for the purpose of providing personalized study recommendations. Your data is not used to train AI models. AI responses are generated in real-time and are not stored beyond conversation history. The AI is designed exclusively for study planning assistance and does not provide academic tutoring.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the application or by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
